Matthew Goeke, cellist, peforms as soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player in a broad range of musical styles. He is a member of the Stamford Symphony, the Cross Town Ensemble, and The School of American Ballet Orchestra, and has performed with SEM Ensemble, Musica Sacra, Eos Orchestra and The Orchestra of St. Lukes, North/South Consonance, and the Kitchen House Blend. Solo performances with orchestras around the New York area include the Dvorak, Brahms "Double" and Boccherini concertos, Shostakovitch Concerto No. 1, and the Beethoven "Triple" Concerto. Classical recordings include North/South Recordings and 4Tay, Inc. He has also recorded for Opus One Records, Polygram, Elektra, Tzadik and Koch International Classics labels. He also performs and records with the bands, GIANTfingers and Voltaire, and the experimental instrumental group Another Silent Day. Matt is a member of the di.vi.sion piano trio, Moderncelli Cello Quartet, and the award winning flute,viola cello trio, Eight Strings and a Whistle. On February 14, 2009, he will perform the Lalo cello concerto with the New York Repertory Orchestra.
